First Week of School!

Lots of excitement on our first week, and just a little trepidation, as our kinders got used to being at school again all day!  Everyone was pretty exhausted by the end of our very full days... so we tried to take some time to relax after lunch and had some free time mixed in to play and explore our classroom.

We started the week off by having an all school flag ceremony and then having family members come in and make Kissing Hands with their kinders, to ease the transition...maybe more for parents than kids!

We learned about lining up, classroom procedures, and did lots of fun fishy activities!  The kids practiced team work by making a big puzzle, went fishing for numbers, and colored Rainbow Fish to put up on our bulletin board!  We also counted fish at snack time!

The kids were also SO excited to see their preschool teachers Mrs. Hamner and Mr. Matt!!!

The kids are getting used to our morning routine of doing morning work, bringing in their folders, and answering the Morning Message on the board!

To get to know the school and staff we went on a fun scavenger hunt!

We practiced numbers by playing Don't Eat Pete, one of my all time favorite games.  It was hilarious.  I hope you got to play it at your house with the gameboard your kinder brought home!  We also bought prize cards and played with our classroom pet, Eragon!

We also blasted of our "awesome class" rocket from Pluto all the way to the sun, so we earned a S'Mores party!

We finished the week by making beautiful fish watercolor pictures! I love how they turned out!
