First Week Down!

We did more than survive our first week... I would say our class thrived!   We were busy having fun and learning new routines, and the class is doing GREAT! It's a LOT to take in, and I wouldn't be surprised if your kinder is pretty tired this weekend!  Make sure they are getting lots of sleep!

We spent a lot of time just going slowly through the routine of our day, practicing stations, lining up, going to lunch, and trying to keep track of our masks!

We started the week with a fun activity with parents and families in our classroom!

We got to meet our class pet, Eragon, the bearded dragon.

To get familiar with our school we went on a fun scavenger hunt!  Everyone is so good about wearing their masks in the hallways.

We read a story about a school with no rules.  Everyone thought that sounded like FUN until we found out what happened at that school.  Then they decided they needed some rules.  Here is what they came up with (paraphrased by me...).  :)

We practiced counting at snack time!  From what I understand we will have snack every afternoon, including fresh fruits or veggies twice a week, provided by the food service.

The kids are learning to do station rotation...  Here they are at the puzzle station.

Listening station in the Reading Jungle...

Every morning we write on the Morning Message board.

Math Time!  Mrs. Hamner has been coming in to help us, until Pre K starts after Labor Day.

Friday we needed a brain break, and went out with the First Graders to pick cranberries in the afternoon!  We'll make something yummy with them in class soon!

This Wednesday we'll be going on our first Field Trip, to Moon Lake! You are welcome to come along! Please text me if you are able to make it.  I will be sending home permission slips on Monday, so watch for that in the folders. And if you have other ideas of field trips for our class, please let me know!
