Critters in our classroom!

Already this year we have had some fun visitors in our classroom.  And these kind don't even have to wear a mask!

Oreo, who was elected class president last year, comes in to visit occasionally, and loves to be read to.

We had some little kittens come in and visit as well, and we have had Isla use her Pet Shop Prize Card to introduce us to her kitty Pearl!  Pearl was such a great visitor.  Very tolerant. :)

We also have had fun picking and cooking with cranberries this fall!  We went out with the First Grade to pick on a gorgeous fall day, and then made muffins and invited them over to watch a video of the book, "If You Give A Moose A Muffin..."  It was such a fun cranberry party!

Another fall fruit we enjoyed tasting was apples!   We tasted three different types of apples, voted on our favorite, and then made a graph of our class's favorite apples.   We also learned about apple trees and all about Johnny Appleseed!

In case you were wondering... here are our results! You'll have to ask your kinder which one they voted for!

This fall Tok School held a district Cross Country meet!  The kinders ran a quarter mile around the track.  Everyone finished, and everyone had a great time, so it was a huge success in my book!  We also learned about sportsmanship, and practiced cheering on the other classes and congratulating the winners!

To celebrate the changing of the seasons the kids made a collage of all four seasons.  They did such a great job!

Hard to believe that fall is over and winter seems to be here already!  Thank you for sending your kids with the Big 5 every day: snowpants, boots, mittens, hat, and coat.  If you forget or need help finding winter gear for your child, PLEASE let me know!  We have resources to help with that!

September is fast coming to a close, and the kids are making great progress!  I am looking forward to meeting with each of you at Parent Teacher Conferences this Wednesday the 29th!
