Busy Bees!

We were busy bees this week!  Ask your child about the 3 B's (our class rules).
We are working hard on getting our routines down, and the kids are doing great!

The kids worked together at math time to make hexagons into a giant honeycomb...all their idea.

We also learned that ANTS work together, and so WE!
We had fun catching ants, pretending to be ants, watching a video about ants, and working together like ants.  We also did some great ant art!  It will be posted in the hallway by the lunchroom.

In math we are exploring manipulatives, learning shapes, and discovering the qualities of odd and even numbers.  We are also learning how to write each number and learning the song that goes with it.

In reading we are doing a quick overview of all of the letters for the next 2 weeks.  We are beginning "popcorn" words (sight words).  We learned "I" and "see", and worked together on a word web to come up with ideas for journaling.  The kids each have a picture/writing journal that we work on in class.
